2012.29: Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow

Time took to complete: 14hrs:29mins:24secs on Knight [Hard] difficulty

What a fantastic adventure this was. I think epic sums it up. The story was very drawing with great characters and fantastic music. Absolutely stunning graphics (or art style) that left me in awe in many places and gameplay to match the presentation. As it had fantastic combo and counter system, great rolling dodge that some may argue made the game easier but I argue it got my ass out of death many times :), and something this genre lacked for a while; great puzzles. There is this awesome chess like game called Wargame that I would have loved to play online against others.

So, overall, I was extremely pleased with the whole experience on all fronts. The only downer I can think of is the fixed camera is a bit too 'heavily directed' and can be disorientating at times. One time I swear it changed angles in the middle of my jump and I fell to my death but even this has a plus as in many places where it doesn't make you fall to your death, you think how clever the camera work is. As it often moves and changes to best support the action and the epic scenery.

I can't think of any reason not to give this fantastic game a score that really sets in stone how much I loved it - 10/10.
