2011.10: Homefront

ll the reviews saying this game has 5 hours of lifespan in SP are LIARS.
It actually has three :)
Check my trophies from end of Chapter 1 to End of Chapter 7, took 3hours.

That's not the concern though, the concern is that, despite having the writer of Apocalypse Now on board, it didn't have the style to pull it off.
Terribly weak game technically and game design was (wave after wave of enemies anyone..?). I especially got pissed off when you get to the 'checkpoint' and the AI is supposed to open the door to proceed but he takes like 30seconds to do it....So fucking annoying. You just wait there until the AI kicks in.

Maybe it wasn't just bad technically and gameplay design though, the writing wasn't THAT great, I predicted every twist humorously early on. Like when I saw their back garden, I knew straight away (spoiler highlight to view): it was going to get attacked.

You can't set tone and emotion in a 3 hour game though and most cut-scenes were edited footages of stuff, not told properly.
So yeah, nothing really clicked here, can't stay for the story, can't stay for the gameplay with this one.

But, on the plus side - Commanding the jeep thing was great (wow forgot it's name already..) and the final mission's airstrike control, although very limited and short, was good.

5/10.

Would love to try MP (main reason I rented it)...BUUUT, it freezes the PS3 half the time when I try :)...Hoo-fucking-rah.
