WOW! what an improvement. First of all, I've
played this game from beginning to end with MOVE and loved every second!
DS3 shooters feel laggy now compared to MOVE. And thanks to iWaggle's
"optimal settings" [at link's 3rd comment] for the Motion Controls, it
handled perfectly. So, a huge plus for being my full MOVE game and
working flawlessly with it.
My second favourite thing in this game, and an HUGE improvement over KZ2
- It was tough but FAIR. I know "i'm teh noobz!" or whatever but I
really thought KZ2 was being a bitch with the difficulty, especially
highlighted by the annoying way the last boss was. Here I've played on
Normal (same as KZ2), and died a few times but didn't get frustrated
thanks to the game feeling more fair. Not sure if it was the better
level design or enemies not 100% concentrating on you but it felt better
and more fun. Although I must say grenade spamming was freakin'
annoying, but that was the only "F this game!" frustration I had.
The story surprised me, as in, I actually cared! KZ1 + KZ2, you couldn't
pay me to pay attention to that crap but here (especially near the
end), it got very interesting. I loved the main bad guy (the chairman),
voice acting wise and dialogue was, he was the best written one and
stands high on the list when compared to any game.
The variety was superb in the game as well. I love CoD because of
variety and this game had it too. And the awesome thing about this game
is even if you are on foot shooting things, the level design gives you
many ways to do it, weather it be through vast weapon choice or many
paths.
And man, that bolt gun is much more fun than it has a right to be! I've
died a few times because I've wanted to stick to the bolt gun where it
didn't make sense to, but I didn't care, it was so fun!
So, this game is the biggest nice surprise of this year for me, as I
really didn't expect to enjoy it this much, but luckily I did and
Guerilla has learnt A LOT!
I tip my hat off to them.
9/10.
