I would like it if everyone read the full text of the reviews I write, heck I would like it if anyone came on this site at all on any frequent basis. But if anyone ever does find their way here and just likes to check scores, this is how the numbering goes in my head.
Here is a summary:
1-3 - HORRIBLE
Honestly, I am not a professional reviewer, I don't HAVE to finish these games. So if a game is so bad they are going to get a score this low, most likely I won't play them to end. To this day I have never rated anything this low.
4 - MEH
This game is there. It exists. But it was a bit of an uninspired mess and I barely made it through it. At the end feeling very blargh about the whole experience.
5 - OK
Right through the middle. Does nothing bad, nothing good. It's there as a functioning game that is, you know, OK to play.
6 - GOOD
Now we are getting somewhere. These are games that I didn't "just play to the end" and had a good time with.
7 - VERY GOOD
This is now getting to an area not only did I have a good time with the game but it was very good indeed. Getting into an area where I would recommend this game to others.
8 - GREAT
A game that steps out of comfort zones, attempts and delivers something I didn't get from other games, thus pushes itself into ranks of greatness.
9 - FANTASTIC
These are games that are polished to a tee. Everything they have attempted has been done on a level rarely seen and it was a fantastic experience all around.
10 - EXCEPTIONAL
These are games so good that I think about them long after completing them and excite me often in many ways while playing. They break the player - software boundary and make their way into my real life.
